Normally, fiberglass pools take roughly 5 to 10 days to install depending on the size, model, and other variables. This is much faster than the weeks that it may take to install other types of pools.
This is the best time to choose the best position of the pool. The most suitable location is usually the highest, this way rainwater can not seep into the pool. A hole is dug a foot larger than the outside of the pool and about 2 inches deeper than the pool depth.
Start with leveling the base and pouring about 3 inches of concrete (rebar maybe necessary for unstable soils). Some installers may make a 2 inch sand mattress between the floor and the pool, which is not wrong, but we advise placing the pool directly on the concrete base.
Your Fiber Pool arrives complete and ready to place. To ensure that access is feasible, your installer will typically visit the installation site to come up with a plan. This may include planning for a crane to set the pool into place.
With the hole properly prepared and all measurements double checked, the pool is ready to be set in place.
Properly support the steps using bricks or another resource. Fill in all of the empty spaces.
Install deep end suction fittings. Once the pool is level, the process of adding water and backfill begins. The pool will simultaneously be filled with water as it is backfilled with gravel to provide equal pressure. This also adds stability on both sides of the fiberglass walls. It is important that the gravel on the outside and the water on the inside are brought up together to equalize the pressure. Make sure that pool levels are stable.
Install the fittings and the skimmer. Connect the PVC pipes from the fittings to the pump and filter.
Position the pump and filter as close to the pool as possible.
The deck surrounding your pool should begin to take shape.
Set up the forms and pour the concrete. Get creative! You now have a beautiful pool installation to suit any outdoor space.
